By Greg Anderson, USN Summer Camps Director
Welcome to USN 2021 Summer Camps. We always strive to provide families with the most dynamic and varied summer programming options for students K-12. Our camps are open to the general public and will run for 6 weeks this summer, starting Monday, June 7 and ending Friday, July 16.
This year we adjusting to more all-day and cohorted camp offerings which is a shift from the normal ala carte style that families are used to where they could pick and choose any combination of camps for their child(ren). In an effort to remain within our school's COVID-19 protocols, we have asked our instructors to make this adjustment this year as we have done all year with our school community.
Each camp session lasts for one week. Please read the description thoroughly before registering for a camp to make sure it meets your expectations. During registration, you will see the option for cafeteria lunch and we have been in contact with SAGE Dining Services, our food vendor to confirm that they will be able to provide quality lunch options for families each week that meet your child's dietary requirements.
We have decided to not provide aftercare services this year. The decision is still a point of discussion as we look to adhere to our school health protocols and we will communicate if this decision changes.
For the third time, the junior has earned recognition for her C-SPAN StudentCam documentary. Elected officials and a representative from the network honored her during High School Assembly on Friday, May 2.
Congratulations to Max Parker ’29, Anisha Nachnani ’32, Indy O’Hare ’32, and Lucas Lupu ’31, who took home the top prize at the USN Quiz Bowl Championship.
The English Department and Hassenfeld librarians share summer reading lists for rising grades 5-12 and AP courses. View their suggestions at usn.org/reading. Lower School reading lists will be published before the last day of school.
