MS, HS faculty share departures

We will miss Eighth Grade Math Teacher Harrison Nam, World Languages Department Chair Camille Sutton, HS Science Teacher Steve Slovenski, and Archivist Jenny Winston.
By Juanita I.C. Traughber, Communications Director

Harrison Nam joined USN math faculty in 2017 as our eighth grade algebra and advanced algebra teacher and quickly impressed his students with his magician tricks. For a year, he served as Middle School’s Digital Ambassador to share fifth through eighth grade happenings on social media. This summer he will return to California to be close to his family.

World Languages Department Chair Camille Sutton has taught Spanish and French to High School students since 2016. She is moving to Vancouver, Canada to be close to her family. Sutton said she hopes the department will continue the “Musical March Madness” tradition she brought to USN in 2016.

Steve Slovenski has taught physics, robotics and engineering since 2015 and overseen the school’s Makers Lab with a 3D printer. He is transitioning to increase his role with his family's summer camp and spend more time with his growing family.

Jenny Winston served as the USN archivist from 2014 to 2020 and was instrumental in researching and organizing school records, photos, and artifacts for the school's centennial celebration and its perpetuity. She worked with Middle and High School students each year to guide them through the school’s Archives for their research projects. She resigned in December to pursue student teaching at a public school and complete her teacher certification.

The roles these faculty leave behind and other open positions for the 2021-2022 school year are listed at usn.org/jobs. Please help University School of Nashville attract candidates by sharing with friends and professional contacts.
