Donate nut butter to support Second Harvest

Throughout February, first grade is collecting nut butter to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank.
By Betsy Hoffman '83, First Grade Teacher

First grade is collecting nut butter for a Valentine's Day service learning project and would love the support of every USN student. Donation boxes will be placed on each floor of Lower School and in the 19th Avenue Lobby throughout the month of February. All donations will benefit Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee

According to Second Harvest Food Bank, peanut butter is a dependable, protein-packed, go-to food item for millions of Americans. As a result, there is a high demand for nut butters, but this most-needed item is not routinely donated. Peanut butter is an essential item to those struggling with hunger. Its nutritional value, long shelf life, versatility, and popularity with children and adults alike make it a perfect pantry staple.

Second Harvest's food distribution is up 39% over this time last year. With so many of our neighbors in need, we hope to spread the love and hope you'll join us.
