Class of 2021 donates prom money to social justice causes

Seniors voted to gift the money they raised for their canceled junior prom to the Nashville chapter of Black Lives Matter and the Equal Justice Initiative.
Last November the Class of 2021 held a silent auction as a fundraiser for prom 2020, which was canceled due to COVID-19. In June, the class decided to redirect their funds to a charity.

"Given the recent events and conversations around our city and country, our class will be donating the money we raised to support the Black Lives Matter movement," they wrote their benefactors. The $2,000 was split equally between the Nashville chapter of Black Lives Matter and the Equal Justice Initiative.
