On Saturday, November 2, the USN Quiz Bowl team attended the Vanderbilt Spooky V tournament. The all freshman team of Riya Narayan, Luke Dinger, Iris Li, Leala Nakagaws, and Maya Giles did well for their first tournament. After several close games and going up against the strongest teams in the tournament, they ended with a 3-7 record. The A team of Daniel Borza '21, Ethan Li '21, Ben Gregg '21, Emily Wykoff '22, and Adeolu Ajayi '22 placed fourth in the tournament. Congratulations to these students.
Congratulations to Gold Key Award recipients Alder Brandon '27, Cleo Gauthier '24, Caroline Keiper '25, Eliza Nichols '25, and Kati Tong '25 for their critical essay, flash fiction, and science fiction works.
The Middle School Quiz Bowl team competed in the Spring Forward XV Middle School Academic Challenge and had standout performances, ranking third, fourth, and seventh, and Liam Mooney '28 having the highest score of all competitors at the challenge.
