USN forms Rowing Club for MS, HS students

Tiger rower Ethan’21 heads to the Southeast Regional Regatta.

Ethan Herrell ’21 is part of the Men’s Youth 4+ competing at the Southeast Regional Competition for U.S. Rowing from Friday, May 10 through Sunday, May 12. Ethan is a co-founder of the newly established University School of Nashville Rowing Club, in which USN students row with Nashville Rowing Club out of the Hamilton Creek Marina at Percy Priest Lake. Ethan and his crew won the Dogwood Invitational and will compete at Southeast Regionals in an effort to advance to nationals in June.
 
USN Rowing Club is open to new members. Ethan Herrell ’21 and Jon Lippolis ’21 are in High School and Lucy Cramer ‘24 and Margaret Griffin ’25 are on the Middle School Development Team. Boys and girls work together and practice together on the team. Most races are divided into women’s and men’s events, but there are some mixed events, similar to mixed doubles tennis.
