9/1 Meet Recap - Tigers Toe The Line

Lindsey Bachman
On a hot and humid Thursday afternoon, 21 enthusiastic Tigers toed the line for their first ever MS cross country race! Their focus and goals for the day were 3 fold:

1)To push themselves to persevere when the race felt difficult
2)To be supportive and encouraging teammates and competitors
3) To have FUN and ENJOY the experience!

Perhaps the greatest challenge of the day proved to be containing their excitement and eagerness to warm up while waiting for their race. Racing among their fellow 6th grade USN teammates and 5th & 6th grade runners from 6 other schools, our mighty team had a strong presence in the top half of the field. For many athletes this was not only their first ever running race, but also the farthest distance they have ever consecutively run. Regardless of experience level or finishing time however, every single runner should be extremely proud of the effort they gave, especially considering the hot and humid conditions.

Below is a list of our finishing times. Well done to ALL and we hope to see even more of our Tigers out on the course at our next meet.
