'Disney's Newsies JR.' revealed as MS musical

A back-to-school tradition, the Middle School will open the academic year with performances by a cast of more than 100 students and on a set built by students too.
By Bakari King, MS Theater Director

The Middle School Theater Department will present "Disney's Newsies Jr." in August 2025. Auditions will take place Friday, April 4, and Saturday, April 5 in the Dance/Chorus room around the corner from the band room on the second floor of Tibbott. Auditions will be a little different this year and will be explained at the Audition Workshop. All students who audition for the musical will be given a role in the show.

All information about auditions will be spelled out at the Audition Workshop on Saturday, March 29 & Sunday. March 30.

To help students prepare for auditions, we will hold an audition workshop in the Gordon Multipurpose Room from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday & Sunday, March 29 & 30. Each workshop will be followed by a brief meeting for actors and parents starting at 12 p.m. Students planning to participate in the MS musical should plan to attend one of the workshops. If you are not able to attend, please reach out to me by email to get all the information needed for the audition.

Also, pencil these dates onto your calendar for rehearsals:
July 21-25 (Principals and Elite Chorus)
July 28- August 1 & August  4-8 (All Actors)
August 10-13 (Tech Rehearsals)
August 14-16 (Show dates)

Please keep in mind students need to be available to attend all rehearsals in order to participate.
