USN adds formal Counseling Office
As longtime counselor Beth Eberl assumes the new role of Director of Counseling, we welcome Latricia Watkins, Randi Days, and Trish Buckner to work with students in Lower, Middle, and High Schools, respectively.

In response to the ever-increasing demands for social and emotional support for young people, USN has expanded its counseling services.
With 26 years of counseling experience in independent schools and eight of them at USN as the High School Counselor, Beth Eberl has been named the Director of Counseling K-12. She will provide oversight for the counseling program K-12 and lead the team, which is made up of Latricia Watkins, Randi Days, and Trish Buckner. She will also ensure the continuity of student and parent programming K-12 that will be in alignment with USN’s mission and values.
Latricia Watkins will serve as the High School Counselor after spending five years in a Rutherford County high school. Watkins holds a Bachelor of Science in Health and Exercise Science (K-12 Pedagogy) and a Master of Education in School Counseling from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Watkins believes that social emotional learning is a key component to the academic success of students. She brings a student-centered and solution-focused approach to our counseling department. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking and trying new restaurants. She is also a big Titans fan and looks forward to spending time with her nieces, Charlotte and Willow.
Randi Days, Ed.D, is a Nashville native and graduate of Metro Nashville Public Schools and will serve as the Middle School Counselor. She has spent 14 years of service within education serving as a classroom teacher, literacy coach, High School Academy lead, professional school counselor, Tennessee Mid-Cumberland Region Lead Counselor, and trauma-informed specialist in both state and public school sectors. Days obtained her Bachelor of Arts in English and Journalism from Fisk University, a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction at Tennessee State University, a Professional School Counseling certification from Tennessee State University, and a Doctorate of Education in Leadership and Professional Practice from Trevecca Nazarene University. As a leader in education, her first and foremost effort is to ensure the success of all students through equitable practices. Days is a devoted wife and mother of three, who enjoys quality time with her extended family, entertaining friends, and traveling to new places. She is deeply rooted in country music as her great grandfather was the first African American to perform at the Grand Ole Opry.
Tricia Buckner recently relocated to Nashville from Cleveland, Ohio. She spent the past 10 years as a lower school counselor in the Shaker Heights and Cleveland Heights public school districts. She will serve as the Lower School Counselor. Prior to becoming a school counselor, she worked in law enforcement. She received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Baldwin Wallace University and Masters of Education in School Counseling from Cleveland State University. As a school counselor, she supports and advocates for all students in addition to their families. She values getting to know families and their scholars, as well as partnering with them to ensure their scholars have a fun and successful school year. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, reading, spending time with family and friends, concerts, stand-up comedy, and learning.
