By Lily Palmer, HS Theater Director

Book your tickets for the High School Musical Production of “The Drowsy Chaperone,” music and lyrics by Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison, book by Bob Martin and Don McKellar. The original Broadway production of The Drowsy Chaperone was produced by Kevin McCollum, Roy Miller, Bob Boyett, Stephanie McClelland, Barbara Freitag, and Jill Furman.

Sure to be a fun evening, our teenage thespians will transport you to the roaring 20s and have you roaring with laughter. Complete with mistaken identities, dancing gangsters dressed as pastry chefs, a ridiculous spit take, and contrived melodrama, what more could you ask for in a musical? Did I mention an inflatable bunny costume, tap dancing, and a kick-line? I mean, need I say more?

Musical Theatre International rates this musical PG and includes references to romance, identity, self-discovery, and comedic misunderstandings. While the musical is light-hearted and features a whimsical storyline, it may portray innuendo and situations more suitable for older students. Parental discretion is advised for younger audiences.
