ODCL Intern a Rhodes finalist

Congratulations to USN's Office of Diversity and Community Life Intern Saraya Ashley, also a senior at Fisk University.

Saraya Ashley was named a finalist for the Rhodes Scholarship. She has interned in USN's  Office of Diversity and Community Life for three years. Her responsibilities at USN include programming for Middle School ALBANIE, assisting with High School ALBANIE, supporting several affinity groups across campus, planning for the several senior celebrations USN hosts.

“Saraya has been a true asset to this office, and it has been a joy to see all the success that she has and that can be attributed to her excellent work ethic and passion for helping others," said Roderick White, Director of the Office of Diversity and Community Life.

Ashley also is a senior studying political science at Fisk University and serves as Student Government President there. Click here to read more about Ashley.

Each year 32 young students from more than 320 American colleges and universities are selected as Rhodes Scholars. They are chosen not only for their outstanding scholarly achievements but also for their character, commitment to others and to the common good, and for their potential for leadership in whatever domains their careers may lead. The prize provides two to three years of fully-funded graduate study at the historic University of Oxford in Oxford, England.
