Contribute to the Food Drive

by Will Weinstein '15

It’s that time of the year again--time for the annual USN Second Harvest Food Drive. We've extended the deadline for donations to November 14.
Contribute to the food drive from now until November 14. Set up at 19th Avenue, 21st Avenue, and throughout the school are tall white Second Harvest boxes where you can put your food items to be collected. As in years past, we’re looking for nutritious, non-perishable foods that can be prepared easily. A few key items we’re looking for this year (with the exception of green beans):
- Peanut Butter
- Cereal
- Soups and Stews
- Boxed or bagged rice
- Canned Fruit
- Canned Vegetables
- Canned Chicken and Tuna
- Pasta

Unlike years past, the food collected this year will go to a local pantry within the Edgehill community rather than directly to Second Harvest. As a part of the Centennial Initiative, USN is working with the Edgehill community to be more active and involved in our neighborhood. This year, we’re pushing for record turnouts from the USN community, and these records can only be broken by your efforts and donations.

Your donations will go directly to the families of Edgehill through the Kayne Avenue food bank. It’s time to get this food drive underway, and it’s through your donations and efforts that we can leave a lasting impact on our Edgehill community.
