  • Tiger Soccer Beat #1 Seed DCA in Regional Tournament

The Boys Soccer team defeated DCA at DCA on Tuesday night 4-1. The Tigers started fast and hit the crossbar within 4 minutes & kept up the pressure throughout the first half. USN had plenty of joy down the left with Trè Sheats, Griffin Davidson, Atticus Pflaum and Eli Galentino causing all kinds of trouble for DCA, nearly scoring on several occasions. Braylin Davis had a goal called back for offsides from a terrific low Kamran Kopstain cross. The half finished 0-0 with DCA's outstanding goalkeeper keeping the Tigers at bay.

In the second period USN kept DCA hemmed into their own half as the Tiger defense of Mark Luschen, Elijah Miller, Paulo Saoud and Thomas Mauries, controlled the air from DCA goal kicks and punts. After about 20 minutes, Atticus Pflaum raced into the left side of the box, slipping past a defender to beat the goal keeper, taking a 1-0 lead. The goal was set up by a wily defensive read, than pass from Tré Sheats. Atticus once again slid a confident finish into the back of the net after racing in behind the DCA backs off of a long punt by goalkeeper Chris Haynes. 2-0. Henry Baxter made it 3-0 with a composed finish from a bending ball in behind the DCA backs from Maximus Gulmi. DCA found a goal as they threw everything forward to get back into the game. A long Thomas Mauries free kick scored as Freshman Henry Baxter challenged the goalkeeper for USN's 4th goal.

Final 4-1. The USN Tigers advance to the State Tournament as well as to the Region Semi-final. The Tigers Region Semi-final is on Thursday, 5 pm at BGA vs. Webb School. It should be a fun one.
  • Tiger Soccer Win Big In Region Second Round

The Boys Soccer Team got off to a fast start vs. Middle Tennessee Christian School in the second round of the Region Tournament. Quick ball movement and sharp mobility put MTCS on their heels. Seniors Tré Sheats & Eli Galentino were highly influential in todays fortunes. The creative fulcrums of the group, the veteran pair sprayed the ball around, involving their teammates and stretching out the opponent.
The final result of 9-0 was a display of confidence moving into the quarterfinals. The Tigers take on Donelson Christian Academy on Tuesday in Donelson. The winner advances to the Region Semifinals and earn a bid to the State Tournament.
  • Tigers Drop Result To District Rival GCA

USN lost on Monday at GCA 3-0. The Lions direct play challenged USN early on to score to 2 first half goals. The Tigers regrouped and took over the game. While USN couldn’t tuck away goals from the several chances they created in the second half, they showed powerful mental strength to respond to a tough start against a good team. GCA scored a consolation goal at the end as USN threw all their players forward in a bid to ties things up.
