USN claims victory over The Webb School in Rematch

Tuesday, March 19th, would be a rematch against The Webb School down in Bell Buckle, TN. USN was clearly motivated from the prior day's loss and came out swinging. Carson Darr ‘25 would get USN on the board with a walk in the 1st inning. In the second inning, the Tigers would respond with a four-run inning. With a leadoff single from Eli Whelan ‘28, AJ Truss ‘27 would come to the plate and lay down a sacrifice bunt where he reached on the error, allowing Eli to score all the way from 1st base. Joseph Ozenne ‘24 would walk, Mahoney Daunic ‘24 and Andrew Walker ‘26 would each single to bring runners home. With a comfortable 5-0 lead, the Tigers would go on to score again in the 3rd and 6th innings and win 7-3. Daunic would collect the win on the mound, going six innings, allowing just 3 hits, and striking out 9. Grant Reilly ‘24 would come in and work a 1, 2, 3 inning in relief. The game ended with a beautiful double play between Darr and Alexander Peck ‘25 to seal the deal. USN improves to 5-1 overall and 1-1 in the district.
