Mahoney Daunic collected three hits in four at-bats as the University School of Nashville defeated Hume-Fogg Blue Knights 18-2 on Wednesday at Rose Park. Danuic singled in the first inning, singled in the fifth inning, and singled again in the ninth.
The Tigers opened the scoring in the first after Daunic singled, scoring one run. A Wild pitch extended the lead to 2-0 in the top of the third.
Grant Reilly led things off on the mound for USN. The righty allowed zero hits and zero runs over one inning. Carson Darr, Daunic, Joseph Ozenne, Dylan Washko, Andrew Walker, Eli Whelan, AJ Truss, and Harry Stahl each threw scoreless innings in relief.
USN tallied 11 hits in the game. Truss collected two hits in four at-bats. The Tigers had patience at the plate, piling up 13 walks for the game. Ozenne, Alexander Peck, Whelan, and Charles Cook led the team with two walks each. Daunic stole two bases. USN ran wild on the base paths, amassing five stolen bases for the game.
