USN Boys Soccer With Statement Win Vs. FRA

The Boys Soccer team came away with a statement win on Saturday vs. district rivals FRA 2-1. With a well played half from both teams the score was 0-0.

USN came out in the second half as the aggressor and played quick combination soccer to put FRA on their heels. The Tiger ball movement opened up seams to get to goal on their opponent.

Senior Elijah Miller tackled high up the field to knock the ball to fellow senior Trè Sheats who cleverly slipped Freshman Braylin Davis into the box. Braylin calmly slipped the ball home at the back post.  1-0 five minutes into the second half.

One minute later Senior Thayer MacMillan scores at the back post. USN slipped Eli Galentino into the corner on the left. Turns away from pressure and finds Tré Sheats stepping inside. Tré plays a sweet short cross to the 6 yard box. Junior Casper Schmidt almost gets a head on it and Thayer was right behind him, with a good back post run, heading it home. 2-0.

The Tigers dominated the rest of the game, but FRA did steal one back late and came close again with Senior goalkeeper Chris Haynes making sure to keep them out.

USN now sits in second place in the district at 4-1.
