    TERMINUS TOURNAMENT March 23-24
    Ultimate Frisbee Girls Recap
This past weekend, our Ultimate Frisbee team traveled to Atlanta to compete in the TERMINUS tournament on March 23-24. This is a USAU sanctioned tournament. The girls’ team was fired up for this competition and all players gained valuable experience at Terminus. Our approach to this tournament was to gain valuable
game experience for our upcoming River Campus Classic on April 6-7.

Our first game on Saturday, we competed against Academe/Jackson, a combined team from the Atlanta area. We played a very strong game but fell short 4-6. Our effort was strong and the game was back and forth trading points. Our second game on Saturday, we played the Paideia Junior Varsity team. Ourplayers fought hard with solid defense, and showed confidence in their play. We had a strong performance winning with the score of 9-1.

Our third game Saturday, we played the 2 nd seeded Decatur team. Although we showed great effort, we weren’t able to keep up with Decatur. After a long day of play, we lost that game 3-8.

On Sunday, we competed in the quarterfinals against a strong Midtown team seeded 4th. We played with positive effort and confidence and matched points throughout. With positive effort and strong play, we pulled out a late 1 point win of 5-4. After putting it all on the field in game 1, we drew the powerful Decatur team for
semifinal play. Although we showed good effort, we couldn’t keep up with Decatur and fell by a score of 1-9.

Next we played in the 3rd place game against Academe/Jackson. We held lead for the initial part of the game, however Academe/Jackson had a big push in the second half, keeping the game close and tying it at the very end of regulation. We then played universe point for the win. Universe point is similar to overtime where the
first team to score takes the win. Although we put it all on the line in the game, we were resilient and positive but came up short 6-7. We ended up in a very respectful 4 th place for the entire tournament and proud of
our showing! We gained great playing experience and our confidence was bolstered a solid effort and attitude.

We would be remiss to leave out a big thank you to the crowd of parents who came to Atlanta to support our team. We really support their attendance and management of food, snacks and drinks to maintain our energy.

The Girls’ Ultimate team (BG) played the Vanderbilt University women’s team (Surge) last night.  The game started slowly for our girls, who fell behind in the beginning.  However, they fought back by scoring the final 4 points resulting in a 7-4 win!
During the game, everyone was able to get playing time and our rookies were able to get a good amount of game experience. We worked different offensive and defensive options to be more familiar with game situations. Our Zone defense continues to be strong and really helped us pull off the win. This is important as we head to Atlanta this weekend to play in the Terminus tournament.

We had great parent support last night and thank the parents for all they do in support of Ultimate!

Competition was strong for both teams this Saturday with the wind making throwstrying. The boys’ team had strong competition that resulted in a 1-2 showing. Thegames were tight and could have gone either way. The girls’ team had a good showing ending with a 2-1 result.

The tournament competition provides us with information we can use to become stronger in the upcoming tournaments.
