  • Tigers Fall to Panthers in Three Sets

    Doug Brown
The varsity Tigers came out on fire Wednesday at FRA, beating the Panthers 25-21 in the first set. The second set saw the Panthers come out just as hot, taking an early 0-8 lead. The Tigers fought back but the early deficient was too much to overcome. The Tigers also fell behind in the third set but mounted a spirited comeback to take the lead 11-10. After a few back and forth points, the Tigers fell 13-15. We had lots of chances to take control in the final set but just could finish the way we wanted. Sarah A. and Lindley D had their serves working today, keeping us close in that final set. The Tigers are 4-1 and in second place in our division of the HVAC. The Tigers take on Ensworth Monday with second place on the line, and a possible spot in the AA conference tournament. Go, Tigers!
  • Tigers Win at Harding

The varsity Tigers defeated the Harding Hawks 2-0 on Monday. The Tigers served lights-out in both sets, only missing two serves during the second set. 7th graders Yori C and Sarah A. led the team in kills. Maya B. and Lindley D. were again outstanding in the back row.
  • Varsity Tigers Come Up Just Short

    Doug Brown
The Tigers lost a tough one on Wednesday vs Valor. After losing the first set 20-25, the Tigers roared back to take the second set 25-13. The third, and final set, was a back and forth affair to the very end. Unfortunately, the Tigers fell 13-15. The Tigers were led by the outstanding defense and hitting power of Yori C. Maya B. and Lindley D. were amazing on the back line, getting to just about everything, while Kendall P. added several very sneaky tips over the net from the setter position. These Tigers are worth a look...hustle, tenacity, and talented!
