Your Tiger harriers has a great day at the Steeplechase! Buoyed by an amazing swell of student and faculty support, the runners competed like champions.
The girls finished 4th in a very competitive field, just 4 points out of 3rd place. Mia Owen led the way in a huge PR, finishing 9th. Freshman standout Latham Hall had another fine day in 20th, and the next three (Shriya Karam, Zoe Light, and Abby Schoenecker) finished within 10sec of each other. Lilly Woo and Laurel McKay showed the team’s depth, as they were the highest finishing 6-7 runners for all but the winning team.
The boys ended as State Runner-Up. They did a good job and moved up well throughout the race. Nick Sieders, Timmy Hays, and Pelham Bergesen led the way in 2nd, 5th, and 6th, respectively. Clayton Jelsma broke 18min in his last race, and Oscar Fox was right behind to close out the team score, just 7 agonizing points behind the winning team. The boys ran a minute faster per runner than last year and still finished 2nd - a tremendous effort.
Thanks to all of you for doing so much to support the many members of the XC teams this season. We did our best to represent the school at its finest.
