Commencement set for May 27

Commencement is 2 p.m. Sunday, May 27 on Magnolia Lawn. Read on for details regarding parking, shuttles, and seating.
University School of Nashville will confer diplomas upon seniors during its Commencement at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 27 on Magnolia Lawn, immediately across the street from the school at 2000 Edgehill Avenue. A reception will follow on the front steps of USN.

Parking will be available in USN’s 19th and 21st Avenue lots as well as Vanderbilt University Lot 77, accessible from 18th Avenue. Shuttles will begin operating at 12:30 p.m. Click here for a map. Graduating students should arrive at the lower level of the Hassenfeld Library by 1 p.m.

Beneath a large white tent, more than 1,700 seats will be available to families, friends, and faculty. A section of immediate family seating is reserved at the front of the tent nearest the stage. For special accommodations for a handicapped guest, contact High School Administrative Assistant Debbie Fulcher by Monday, May 21.

A medical tent will be set up on site, and a USN bus will double as a cooling station for the event. Water will be located throughout the venue.

In the event of inclement weather, check the website for updates. Day of, USN may use its Emergency Alert system to inform students and families of changes.

USN’s Class of 2018 includes three National Merit Scholarship Program Finalists, 13 National Merit Commended Students, and a National Hispanic Scholar. In August, these graduates will head to 64 colleges and universities across the country.
