Writers impress at Scholastic Regional Awards for the South

Eleven University School of Nashville students earned Gold Keys in the Scholastic Regional Writing Awards. Of special note are our first writing recognition for an eighth grader with Coco Shepard '27 receiving a Silver Key, Sheerea Yu '23 receiving a Gold Key for her Writing Portfolio, and many award winners for first-time submissions.

The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards South Region has recognized 44 pieces of writing by University School of Nashville students in grades 8-12.

The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards honors teenagers for their exemplary work in both writing and art, with writing being judged alongside entries from across the South.

This year’s results were exciting, with USN students recognized for their poetry, critical essays, personal essays, humor, science fiction, journalism, flash fiction, and more. Of special note are our first writing recognition for an eighth grader with Coco Shepard '27 receiving a Silver Key, Sheerea Yu '23 receiving a Gold Key for her Writing Portfolio, and many award winners for first-time submissions. 

Gold Key Winners, an impressive eleven pieces, are off to national judging now. The following students received awards for their writing in this year's program.
