HS quiz bowl continues first place streak
The team racked up victories in Portland and Cookeville. Read on for records broken and details on which University School of Nashville students placed in the top 10 individually at each tournament.

University School of Nashville's High School quiz bowl team continued its fall season at the Portland Turkey Bowl on Saturday, November 5, competing against schools from around the state.
The A Team of Frederick Rudolph '23, Rohan Ramachandran '25, Jackson Green '26, and Penelope Graham '25 went 5-0 in the morning preliminaries to advance to the playoffs. After a narrow loss to Merrol Hyde Magnet School, they needed a win in their final match against Cookeville High School and got it 560-80. Going 9-1 on the day, the four Tigers won the tournament. Their 22.5 points per bonus broke the school record set during the 2021-2022 academic year.
The B Team of Lorelei Jobe '23, Mason Lack '26, Evan Giles '26, and Ayo Ajayi '23 won the lower playoff bracket, finishing in seventh place. Additionally, Rohan placed second individually, Frederick placed third, and Lorelei placed sixth.
The team’s season continued in Cookeville on Saturday, November 12 where the members brought home a third tournament win in just 15 days. With many members absent due to Model United Nations, USN took only three students to Cookeville — Penelope, Rohan, and Daniel Guo '25.
The small yet mighty team of sophomores went a perfect 9-0 on the day, sweeping the round-robin format and securing a clear first place finish. Rohan finished second individually, followed by Daniel at third.
