Basketball wins district, makes run for region title

Good luck to High School varsity boys' basketball as the team takes on Goodpasture Christian School in the DII-A region semifinals on Friday, February 18. And congratulations to DII-A District 3 tournament Most Valuable Player Adam Miller '22, Josh Scretchen '22 for making the all-tournament team, and Josh and Adrian Samuels '22 for being placed on the all-district team.
On Wednesday, February 9, the HS varsity boys' basketball team headed into the DII-A District 3 tournament with confidence after having secured the No. 1 seed during regular season play.

The Tigers defeated Battle Ground Academy in the quarterfinals to extend the team's best season since 2017. In the semifinals, the Tigers defeated the Providence Christian Academy Lions in a fierce feline face-off. The final score was 61-41 with Adam Miller '22 (21), Josh Scretchen '22 (18), and Adrian Samuels '22 (13) leading the charge. On Saturday, February 12, the team brought home the district title in a victory over Webb School. Leading scorers were Adam (21), Adrian (14), Collin France '23 (14), and Josh (12) with a final score of 65-61. Following the end of the tournament, Josh and Adrian were named to the all-district team, Josh was named to the all-tournament team, and Adam was named tournament MVP. 

Continuing the team's run with energy and excitement, the Tigers hosted Nashville Christian School in the DII-A region quarterfinals on Wednesday, February 16. With a final score of 66-50, the boys won over the Eagles to advance to the semifinals. Adrian (19) led the way with Josh (17) and Collin (16) putting up big numbers too. 

On Friday, February 18, the team will take on the Goodpasture Christian School Cougars at Franklin Road Academy at 5:30 p.m. Fans are encouraged to attend and show their Tiger pride.
