High School quiz bowl attends Glasgow tournament
Tigers start the quiz bowl season with a strong showing.

High School's quiz bowl team sent two teams to The TRT at Glasgow on Saturday, November 20 in Glasgow, Kentucky. The teams competed against some of the best in the southeast. Eight Tigers represented USN, hopping on a bus at 6:15 a.m. to make it to the tournament. The teams were stacked with students knowledgeable in just about everything. Whether they faced questions on physics, literature, or Meghan Markle, both teams stayed on top.
The A team consisted of Emily Wykoff '22, Adeolu Ajayi '22, Isaac Spiller '24, and Rohan Ramachandran '25. After a truly successful morning and a competitive afternoon, the varsity team placed in the top playoff bracket and won sixth place overall.
The B team consisted of Leala Nakagawa '23, Lorelei Jobe '23, Ayodeji Ajayi '23, and Sarah Page-McCaw '24. The team's morning started off strong with a score of 3-2. The students persisted throughout the day as they won several close games and consistently scored well when against the top teams. The team placed in the second highest playoff bracket and received 10th in overall.
In preliminary individual scores, Rohan received second and Leala received 13th. Both teams played remarkably.
“I am so proud of the teams we brought to Glasgow. Our high placement this past weekend is a testament to the hard work we’ve put in this year and a great indicator of how we will perform the rest of the season," said Emily, the team's captain.
The team thanks HS History Teacher & Quiz Bowl Coach Pat Miletich for chaperoning and USN for providing transportation as well as Glasgow High School for putting on the event.
