Black Student Union toy drive ends Dec. 10

The student-led affinity group hosts a toy drive through Friday, December 10. For ideas on what to purchase, find popular requested toys on the wishlist here. Deliveries from Amazon can be made directly to the school under Office of Diversity & Community Life Director Roderick White.
By Jadyn Sheats '22, Black Student Union President

The Black Student Union is a student-led affinity group that unites Black students by offering a safe environment for unfiltered conversations, educating Black students on their culture, and celebrating the fellowship created within this space.

The holidays are approaching, and they can be a particularly difficult time for our neighbors here in the Edgehill community because not everyone has the access or means to provide gifts for their children. As an affinity group, we are hosting a toy drive for ages 4-7, and all donations will be given to a local community center that will distribute them to families. We want to make the greatest impact we can in bringing joy this season, so we would love full K-12 support.

The toy drive begins Thursday, Nov. 18 and ends Friday, Dec. 10. Donation bins will be located on the kindergarten floor as well as the third and fourth-grade floor in Lower School, fifth-grade floor and the eighth-grade floors in Middle School, and the third floor and fourth floors of High School.

Some gift ideas could be pop-its, dolls, toy cars and trucks, fidgets, LOL dolls, blocks, and other things that can be found at local discount retailers. If you have any toys in their original packaging lying around, please bring them. BSU would appreciate your support, and if you have any questions, please email BSU President Jadyn Sheats '22. Thank you for helping us bring joy to children in our community this holiday season.
