Line service in the Sperling Cafeteria will resume on Tuesday, August 17 when students return to campus for the 2021-2022 school year after the line was closed and bagged lunches were delivered to students for the duration of the previous school year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

SAGE Dining Services offers students a choice of a lunch entree served with two side items. Fruit and desserts are also available. Families with students in grades 1-12 are automatically signed up to access cafeteria services and can go through the cafeteria line. Kindergarten families can sign up for the weekly, one-day-a-week Wednesday plan on usn.org. Monthly lunch menus are available on the cafeteria menu page or by downloading the Touch of Sage mobile app. Students and parents can filter menus for food allergens and dietary restrictions to easily find meals that suit them. An additional selection of a la carte items are offered during lunch based on the grade of the students.

While the cafeteria will be open, much of the service will continue to focus on grab-and-go and prepackaged items due to the coronavirus pandemic. Divisions will work closely to ensure distancing and best utilize all spaces available on campus at this time. Lower School will seat four students at each cafeteria table adhering to the recommended 3’ distance from their peers when eating in the Sperling Cafeteria, and classes will alternate turns in covered outdoor spaces. In Middle School, Grades 7 and 8 will resume lunch in its typical form in the Sperling Cafeteria daily. In Grades 5 and 6, cafeteria tables will seat four students each adhering to the recommended 3’ distance from their peers, and grades will alternate turns in covered outdoor spaces. High School students will enjoy a more informal lunch experience, opting to eat around campus in communal spaces and outdoors to accommodate distancing needs across all three Divisions.

In addition to resuming typical lunchtime operations, the Sperling Cafeteria will be open for grades 5-12 each morning from 7:15 to 7:45 a.m. for breakfast and from 2:20 to 3:20 p.m. each afternoon for snack. All breakfast and snack items are priced a la carte.

Families will be billed monthly in arrears for all breakfast, lunch, and snack selections purchased in the cafeteria through the TADS billing system.
