An update from MS theater

MS Theater Teacher Bakari King shares information on "Junie B. Jones Jr." and looks ahead to next year's show.
By Bakari King, MS Theater Teacher

We have finally finished filming our 2020-2021 Middle School musical, "Junie B. Jones Jr." It will be presented as a drive-in movie at the River Campus in the near future. Be on the lookout for updates. This news only means that it is time to announce the Middle School Musical for 2021.

The 2021 Middle School Musical will be … announced at a later date.

We are not ready to announce the show, but we are ready to announce that your summer dates are free from rehearsals for the musical. We have decided to wait until the end of the semester in hopes that the number of vaccinated students will be greater at that time than it will be by the end of July. As we know, the pandemic is unpredictable, and we want to have as much of a chance as possible for our community to experience the magic of the Middle School Musical in person together.

In the coming weeks, we will share with you the title of the show, audition dates, rehearsal expectations, and show dates. The wait to find out what we're dreaming up will be worth it.

Just to recap:
  • No musical rehearsal in late July or early August;
  • The musical and auditions will be announced before school ends;
  • "Junie B. Jones Jr." will be presented at the River Campus soon
Thank you for your patience and dedication to this event that brings our community closer each year.
