Connect with favorite authors at Everywhere Book Fest
When book festivals began canceling in response to the coronavirus, a sterling group of children’s and young adult authors got together to create a free online alternative: the Everywhere Book Fest, happening Friday, May 1 and Saturday, May 2.
By Kate Pritchard, MS/HS Librarian
The festival will feature a mix of live and pre-recorded video sessions, with an all-star lineup of authors and illustrators, including Gene Luen Yang (Dragon Hoops), Jason Reynolds (Stamped), Aida Salazar (The Moon Within), Stuart Gibbs (Tyrannosaurus Wrecks), Kwame Mbalia (Tristan Strong Punches a Hole in the Sky), Abigail Hing Wen (Loveboat, Taipei), Nic Stone (Clean Getaway), and dozens of others. With Doodle Duels, Truth or Dare, and a virtual Korean vacation, this book festival will be unlike any other.
Best of all, this event is entirely free and doesn’t even require registration. All videos will be available on the website at their scheduled times, and on the festival’s YouTube channel after the event is over.
