Mason ’20 publishes article on cancer research

The senior has been working in the lab of pathologist and USN parent Vivian Weiss and is the lead author of the research article.

Mason Lee ’20 is the first author on a scientific paper recently accepted for publication in Endocrine-Related Cancer, the flagship journal of the Society for Endocrinology. The title of the manuscript is “Novel three dimensional cultures provide insights into thyroid cancer behavior.”
Lee began his research project in the lab of his research mentor, USN parent Vivian Weiss (Maggie ’28 and Peter ’30), in summer 2018. Weiss is a Vanderbilt University Medical Center Pathologist and Assistant Professor whose work focuses on understanding molecular mechanisms in thyroid cancer.
