Artclectic 2019 breaks records

Artclectic 2019 was an amazing success and will make its largest gift ever to the endowment for innovative teaching.
By Michelle Rosen, USNA Communications Co-Chair

Artclectic 2019 was hot, hot, hot! And not just hot pink (ahem, that’s cerise). The whole event leveled up in sophistication this year, kicking off with an all-white preview party in September at the home of Angie & Chris Howard, followed by the October event itself with a record-breaking Patron’s Party (with our foyer and guests dressed in cerise), a first-ever luncheon keynote, a rainbow of colors at Friday’s ARTBash and a fun-filled Community Day and Popclectic Artisan Market. The design-aesthetic equaled the beauty of the art with a re-vamped Instagram page, gorgeous invitations, and beautiful party decor and food.

Art lovers took notice. Our art sales broke records with a 22% increase in total sales over last year. We broke other records, too: Highest sponsorship dollars raised, highest patrons tickets sales ever, and best of all, the event is anticipated to make its highest anticipated donation ever — over $100,000 — to the Artclectic Endowment for Innovative Teaching.

This success wouldn’t have been possible without the more than 70 volunteers and committee members who filled over 100 volunteer shifts to make the event happen. Our sponsors were great. Our artists were awesome. Our buyers were generous.

Perhaps Connie Richardson, past chair and parent artist Mclaine Richardson '04 put it best when she said, “Thank you to all involved for all of your hard work. Artclectic continues to get bigger and better each and every year. So proud of everyone that has nurtured this uniquely-USN event over the past 23 years."

We agree. Be sure to follow us on Instagram and Facebook for news of Artclectic 2020, when we hope to break records all over again.
