See you Sept. 27 at Fall Fest

Fall Fest, from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, is a night of family fun at USN. Read on for the details, including a photo booth in Fall Book Frenzy, carnival games on the backfield, and Mario Kart in the Gordon Multipurpose Room.

Fall Fest and Fall Book Frenzy go hand-in-hand to provide a unique opportunity for USN families stop by after work for dinner with friends and to shop at our fantastic used book sale while the kids enjoy a field full of carnival games, supervised by parent and High School volunteers.

The Middle School African Drum Group will kick the festivities off at 5 p.m. with a repeat performance at 6 p.m.

What's for dinner? Come and see the Dads' Alliance in action. Its fine-tuned assembly line will deliver hamburgers, hotdogs, South African hot chicken, tandoori chicken, and vegetarian options straight from the grill. Pizza and a variety of salads from SAGE will be available too.

For the best deal in town grab a combo: hamburger/hotdog, chips, and drink for $5.

For treats, we will have the Ivory Cotton Candy Co., Kona Ice Truck, the baseball team's bake sale, paletas, free popcorn, and more. Make sure to bring some petty cash for your purchases.

New this year is the introduction of our Mario Kart Competition in the Gordon Multipurpose Room, organized by Lower School Technology Specialist Mark Littlefield. To avoid disappointment, read next week's division publication for a chance to sign up early.

On the backfield you will find two bounce houses, a karaoke booth, nail and face painting and a row of carnival games with lots of opportunities to win prizes.

After dinner, walk down to the Cheek Gym to check out our huge selection of books. You will also find a photo booth here.

If you haven't heard yet, there will not be a movie at this year's Fall Fest. We will wrap up the fun and games at 8 p.m.

Thanks to all the volunteers who have already signed up. We still need some help with Fall Fest and Dads' Alliance grilling.

A big "thank you" to the USN Bookstore for staying open late that night, Artclectic, the basketball team, the Development Office and several student groups for participating.

I hope to see you, rain or shine, for one of my favorite nights at USN.
