A close game throughout, the Tigers scored two goals in the last three minutes to get the win.
It seemed a week away from the field gave the team just the rest they needed. Olivia Dossett '19 dominated the stat sheet once again, with six goals, TEN draw controls, three ground balls, and four caused turnovers. Our freshmen Ellie Bowles '22 and Lia Payne '22 stepped up in a huge way scoring two and three goals, respectively. Lia scored on a free position to even the score with 2:27 remaining in the game.
With an even score, the next draw would prove very important as it would give that team the opportunity to go ahead. We didn't win the draw, but a great defensive stop and a save and quick clear by Lydia West '21 gave us a fast break opportunity on attack. Dossett carried the ball the length of the field and was fouled inside the 8m arc, giving her a free position shot with 12 seconds on the clock. She was able to dodge past their defenders and fake the goalie, giving us a 1 goal lead with 9 seconds remaining. She also pulled in the last draw control to kill the remaining time on the clock and give the Tigers a win.
What a game! Thanks to Stevenson High School for traveling down from Lincolnshire, IL.
