Welcome to AFTER-SCHOOL. Our name is so much more than just a time of day. It represents the community of roughly 400 children who attend our program or participate in the extra curricular classes that we organize.
Our mission is to provide a safe, creative and fun environment in which children develop the important social skills needed to become a compassionate and productive member of the community. Given the time to structure their own afternoons, students thrive in a child-directed environment facilitated by experienced caregivers at a ratio of about 12 to 1. Our children range in age from 5 to 12, separated into the younger K-4 group and the older group in grades 5-8, with developmentally appropriate spaces and staff for every age.
Inside spaces are filled with books, art supplies, games and building materials. Outside, the field offers a wide-open space to run, play soccer, or spread out on a blanket with friends. The playground, climbing structure, and Nature Play spaces offer students the opportunity to connect with nature and each other through the power of imagination.
We offer a wide range of organized classes in the afternoon for the enjoyment of the students and the convenience of the parents. Ranging from languages and computer programming to music and dance, these popular classes integrate well with the more relaxed setting of the AFTER-SCHOOL environment.
A few years ago, a harried kindergarten parent came rushing in to pick up his child. Wide-eyed when feeling guilty about leaving his child on a Friday afternoon, he said, “I’ve been told that AFTER-SCHOOL was a lively environment, but I never dreamed it would look like this much fun.”
We hope you will take some time to look around and see what we have to offer. If you have any questions about the AFTER-SCHOOL Program, please contact Rebecca Stokes through the information below.
