Funniest Senior Writer Chosen

by Freya Sachs, English department chair

This year, many seniors rose to the challenge of our sixth annual Leaky Pen essay contest, rewarding one essayist for just being funny.
This year's topic, "If I could have 100 of anything..." prompted some excellent essays (and I mean it-- I got to read them all) from many members of our senior class.

In a contest sponsored by Susan Yeagley '89 and her husband Kevin Nealon, who believe that humor isn't given enough value in traditional education, this essay is judged by them, and they let us know--with special guest-- of our winner in a video.

This year's winner is Lena Friedman. Her essay is available here and you can also watch the video announcement attached to this article. We're already looking forward to reading next year's essays!
