Michael Puett '82, 2012 Distinguished Alumnus, to Speak April 30

Michael Puett '82, the Walter C. Klein Professor of Chinese History at Harvard University, will talk at 4:30 on Thursday, April 30 in the Payne Libary Room at USN.
A couple of years ago, Atlantic Monthly published an article about Michael: "Why Are Hundreds of Harvard Students Studying Ancient Chinese Philosophy?" In it Christine Gross-Loh reveals that Professor Puett's course Classical Chinese Ethical and Political Theory is the third most popular at Harvard, with enrollment behind only Intro to Economics and Intro to Computer Science.

At USN Professor Puett will begin our festive Centennial birthday weekend with a discussion of "China's Relevance for American Education," giving us a glimpse of why Harvard students flock to his classes.

See the story on Channel 5 about his visit to USN.
