Every other year, University School of Nashville hosts an art show of work by its alumni and alumni of its predecessor school, Peabody Demonstration School. The show opens this Friday, April 25 with a reception at USN’s Christine Slayden Tibbott Center, with the work of 25 alumni artists to remain on display until May 26.
This year the show includes watercolors by Margaret Brugh Roberts, PDS Class of 1932, who began to paint at age 60. It also includes work by five young artists from the Class of 2003, with a great variety of work from the years in between.
Artists include: full time students of art, self-taught artists, professional artists, a retired architect, a practicing architect, a retired landscape designer, and a medical student.
Media include paint, wood glue, clay, copper and enamel, and fabric. Work includes painting, lithographs, photographs, ceramic sculpture, a handmade book, and mixed media prints on handmade paper.
The opening reception is 5:00-7:00 Friday, April 25, and the show is free.
