Students who thought that they would have to wait until college to receive an internship now can obtain a Mini-Internship in high school. HighSchoolInterns.com and USN are working together to offer high school students an opportunity to receive real world experience in a prospective career and valuable life skills prior to college.
In early 2008, students will be able to apply for Mini-Internships by going to www.highschoolinterns.com. All Mini-Internships are non-paid educational opportunities that are 40 hours in length over 5 days, from June 2 to June 6. Employers will make the final decision on who is selected – not HighSchoolInterns.com or USN.
On HighSchoolInterns.com, students can search opportunities, create a resume using a resume builder, and write a cover letter. To assist students, HighSchoolInterns.com can offer workshops in resume and cover letter writing, interviewing, and professional etiquette. All students who accept a Mini-Internship will be asked to complete a professional etiquette workshop prior to June 2.
If you are interested in offering a student a Mini-Internship, please go to www.highschoolinterns.com and click on “Employers Start Here.” Once you have created a user name and password, login to the Employer Area, and click on “Post an Internship” to complete the internship template. If you have any questions, you can contact a HighSchoolInterns.com representative at info@highschoolinterns.com.
HighSchoolInterns.com is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded by USN alumnus Jay Lefkovitz.
