Dates are set for our 2008 Middle School Musical. The first day of school will be Tuesday, August 19, 2008. This means that we will start rehearsals later also, with a slight change in the schedule.
In years past, we’ve had auditions during the first two or three days of the first week of rehearsal, time that we could use furthering the production. So this next year, we will have auditions on July 31 & August 1, the Thursday and Friday before the rehearsal process begins. (Auditions are only necessary for those who would like to have a speaking or singing part.) Please do not worry if you cannot attend on those days because if you tell me in due time we will be able to accommodate you for an audition at another time.
The dates of the rehearsal will go as follows:
Auditions: Thursday & Friday, July 31 - August 1
First Week: August 4-8, 9:00-4:00
Second Week: August 11-15, 9:00-4:00
Saturday, August 16, 1:00-5:00
August 18, 9:00-4:00
August 19 (First day of school is a half-day), 1:00-5:00
August 20, 3:30-8:30
August 21-23, Show Time (6:00 Call Time)
These dates are listed to give you an idea of the commitment. Please look at your calendar to identify and solve possible conflicts well in advance. It is very important for every cast member to be at rehearsal ALL the days listed above. Please keep in mind that the audition dates are only required for those who would like to have a speaking or singing role in the show. If you are not interested in either, you will just be required to show up the first day of rehearsal on Monday, August 4.
I hope this advance notice of key dates is helpful to all who may be considering joining us on next year’s Middle School Musical journey. If you have questions, please contact me at bking@usn.org.
