Welcome to the exciting world of AFTER-SCHOOL.  Our name is so much more than just a time of day.  It represents the community of 280 children who attend our program and almost 100 more students who attend the extra curricular classes that we organize.

Our mission is to help develop the important social skills that we know help create healthy and happy adults.  Given a time to structure their afternoons, the kids thrive in a child-directed environment facilitated by experienced caregivers at a ratio of about 12 to 1.  Inside spaces are filled with books, art supplies, games and building materials.  Outside there are wide-open spaces to run, areas to do projects and a wonderful climbing structure.  Our children range in age from 5 to 15, separated into lower and middle school sections with developmentally appropriate spaces, props and staff for every age.

We offer a myriad of organized classes in the afternoon for enjoyment of the kids and the convenience of the parents.  Ranging from languages to music and dance, these classes are very popular and integrate well with the more relaxed setting of the AFTER-SCHOOL environment.

Earlier this year, a harried kindergarten parent came rushing in to pick up his child.  Wide-eyed when he saw the 90 or so children happily involved in typical afternoon activities, he told us that he had been feeling guilty about leaving his child on a Friday afternoon.  “I’ve been told that AFTER-SCHOOL was a lively environment, but I never dreamed it would look like this much fun.”
